About to snow

They promised us snow today, so it darn well better snow! :)

Happy St. Nicholas’s Day!

I still celebrate this day, which I have since I was a little girl. Put your shoe out on the night of the 5th, and it’s filled with all sorts of good little treats the next morning. When I have a regular track on a show, I always fill one of the shoes of my actors with goodies. I don’t have a regular track, so I’m not doing it this year, but I still do it for the family.

I had a visitation this morning. Not that kind of visitation, unfortunately. But a very cute member of the US Postal Service arrived at my door before eight o’clock in the morning to deliver a package. Not a bad way to wake up, and I was even semi-coherent before my first cup of coffee. Let’s hope this guy stops by with a lot more goodies in the next few weeks – and I don’t even care what’s in the box! :)

Helped my friend finish his project, so that’s all taken care of. Picked up an extra day on Rent on Wednesday for day work. Finished up the overseas holiday cards. I have to write two letters to go into two of the cards to catch up with some people I haven’t spoken to in a long time. I managed to get all the other notes written within the cards, but those two –well, we have a lot of catching up to do. So I’ll do those today and either fight my way to the post office later today or go first thing in the a.m. before going to the theatre tomorrow.

I designed the e-card I’m sending and started to send it out. It will be a long process, since I want to send out each one individually instead of a bulk mailing. But I wasn’t happy with the e-cards online, so I decided to design my own. It’s kind of cute, if I say so myself. I think I have to have two versions – one for my friends with “love” as the signature and one with “best wishes” for those I don’t quite know that well. I think the more intimate signature might make some of the business contacts a bit uncomfortable!

I managed to squeeze out two more issues of Angel Hunt. I am totally stuck. I know what happens a few issues down the line, but I’ve hit a wall and have to figure out how to climb it, go around it, blast through it or dig under it to get my characters from here to there. Two more issues and I’m caught up.

And I consolidated all my notes for Curse of the Moon-Faced Clock, which is helpful. There’s a lot of character info that won’t directly come out, but I needed to have it all in one place to remind myself as I go along.

I read a submission for the KIC mag, passed it to my partner, and edited another article for the mag. I’m almost caught up on everything for them – I have to finish editing another article that needs a good bit of work, read a story, and write a letter.

But Widow’s Chamber week starts today and I have to write sixteen issues to be where I want to be on that. Something’s not quite adding up, because I’m still ahead of what’s published, yet according to my calculations, I need to be up to issue 129 by the end of the week.

Well, I’m allergic to math, so there it is.

And I need to get started on my US & Canadian holiday cards today.

So I better get to it, right? The next time I look up and out of the window, I want to see snowflakes dancing around out there!
