Waning Moon
Saturn Retrograde
Mercury Retrograde
Sunny and mild

This will be a short entry, because I need to pace myself. My shoulder’s still a mess (in spite of a muscle relaxer, which did nothing), and I’m under the weather. I’m not feeling Full-Blown Awful (which is easier, because then you just go to bed), but merely Mildly Miserable.

Two issues of Charlotte last night written and waiting for revision. Will do that first thing. I hope I’ve done justice to the fascination of Cuba, which has captured its visitors since it was first settled in the 1500’s.

Five pages of Ransagh. It’s moving steadily forward. The whole section in the North is taking much longer than I thought it would. I don’t know if each section will do that, or just this one.

Have to run some errands and then it’s Glam Hearts and Widow’s Chamber for me today. I’d like to do another article on the hockey lockout, but don’t know if I have the energy. I’m hoping sheer fury at Gary Bettman will get me through it.

My latest copy of Virginia Woolf’s A Writer’s Diary arrived yesterday. I’m looking forward to dipping in to it.

I wish I could stay in bed today, but that’s not an option.

"Everyone who is born holds dual citizenship, in the kingdom of the well and in the kingdom of the sick. Although we all prefer to use only the good passport, sooner or later each of us is obliged, at least for a spell, to identify ourselves as citizens of that other place."

Susan Sontag, Illness as Metaphor, 1977

Get well soon.
