Waning Moon
Saturn Retrograde
Jupiter Retrograde
Snowy and cold

The snow hit in the evening yesterday. There’s not as much as predicted, but I’m not sure how it will be to get in to the city and around the city today. I am not looking forward to it.

Cutthroat Charlotte will be available on e-Bay for a one-day only sale on Friday. I’ll post the link and remind everyone on Friday itself, or on Thursday night.

I tried to update the devonellington site, and failed. The program is not giving me the options that it should. So I’ll have to try tomorrow to update it via the file manager, which means any mistakes will show up on the live site.

I did a basic page for the Cerridwen’s Cottage site – a single, simple page listing the current articles, Angel Hunt, the columns in KIC magazine and the workshops. This will do until I learn how to build the site properly. The Devon Ellington site needs to be updated first.

I had set up a third site for some of the other pseudonyms, but I’d rather shut it down and fold all of that info to the Devon Ellington site. The work between the DE site and the CC site is different enough to warrant two complete sites, but the third is unnecessary. I’d rather keep it under the DE umbrella.

Roughed out some of Widow’s Chamber. The New Year’s ball will be very complicated.

Received the trial transcript of the Anne Bonney/Mary Read trial. It’s not too long – I could probably read it on the train. That’ll help me set up the next section.

Worked on Ransagh. Did a few pages. Put in a “placeholder” for a complicated dream sequence that I need to think about and add in later. I have the pivotal moment in it, but I have to build the sequence to lead up to it properly. That takes time and thought, and I was in a hurry to move on to the next bit. So I stuck in a placeholder and will think about the structure of the dream as I go about my theatre work this week.

Ink in My Potting Soil:
In spite of it being a waning moon, yesterday was listed as a planting day. I repotted the holiday cacti, the peace lily, the various ivy plants. I also planted the Iceland Poppies and the Black Knight Pincushion Flowers. They’re supposed to take 10-12 days to germinate.

The cress is struggling. The wildflowers flourish. The culantro and thyme are holding their own.

I love planting!

March To-Do List:

1 month of episodes for Widow’s Chamber
1 month of episodes for Tapestry
1 month of episodes for Angel Hunt
1 month of episodes for Cutthroat Charlotte
2 articles
1 short story
60 pages of Ransagh
20 pages of Periwinkle
Re-read Clear the Slot
Continue work on Non-Fiction Proposal A
Continue work on Non-Fiction Proposal B
Continue marketing plan
10 query letters for Elsa’s Sweater
Ink in My Potting Soil
Ink in My Kitchen
Update Devon Ellington site

Copyrighting Direct Mail

The list is markedly shorter than last month’s. Periwinkle has to be factored in. With all the time Ransagh demands, if I wait until I’m done with Ransagh, it could easily be next year before I get to it. Since I’m sure Periwinkle will sell, and, when it came up in casual conversation with an agent a few weeks ago the agent asked to see it as soon as it was done, I need to get back to it. Just when I’d written off agents completely and walk away, one comes after me. I’ll find a way to juggle both Ransagh and Periwinkle. I’ll go back and read P – I think I have about 45 pages of it – and look at my notes to see where it’s going. I have the photos of Montauk and the area in which I set it. I should be able to slide back into its rhythm fairly quickly.

I’m going to try to get some work done on Widow’s Chamber before I head to the theatre.
