Sunny and mild

I shared my adventures in personality tests and restaurants at the show and the Gandhi jokes are coming thick and fast. “When you’re not being Gandhi, do you think you could . . .?” Very funny.

The shows were fine yesterday, although it was a long day. By the second show, we were giddy. Today, we’ll all be dragging around, hoping it’s over soon. Much as we like each other, by the end of the week, we just want to get out of there.

Doing something physical all week is helpful because the story ideas are flowing thick and fast again – the creative process went from last week’s molasses to a very smooth honey over the past days.

I had a major, major breakthrough in Widow’s Chamber, thank goodness. I think I can do the next set of episodes much better than I hoped. Ransagh and Periwinkle and the Vince/Annie piece have all had some positive percolating, and I look forward to going back to them this week.

Some new characters have yapped at me – one came to me in quite an abrupt and demanding fashion with a list of titles for her series! She has to take a number.

I’m taking notes on everything, determined to keep it all straight, but not actually start anything new because unfinished projects drain too much energy, and I need to finish off some of my projects before starting anything else. But I don’t want to lose voices and ideas, so I’m taking notes.

Tomorrow is blocked off to finish the Glam Hearts rewrites and get them off, polish at least two episodes of the western, and finish the horse racing article so it can go up on Wednesday (my editor’s in Vegas for a few days – good for her)!

There’s also bread to be baked and laundry to be done and . . .

But today contains a matinee and then a birthday party.

Off to the train!
