Sunny and hot

With the heat index, it’s supposed to hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit today.

Ick.

So, who is the Half-Blood Prince, with the new Harry Potter coming out this week? If it’s a character that we already know, my money’s on Neville Longbottom. If you look at the way his character’s developed over the course of the series, and remember that, in the last book, it was revealed that he and Harry share the same birthday, I think he’s got a large part to play in all of this. I think it’s Neville.

Lara, since you’ll be the first person I know to get to read the book, you can tell me if I’m right or wrong.

Worked with the new KIC PR person on the press for Thursday’s live chat and the First Fifty Promotion that we hope to do in a local newspaper. Not only did she promise me she would stick around (poor thing was on the receiving end of my fit of frustration), but she actually turned around the work within a day.

Worked on my various sites, to keep them going. Didn’t get enough work done on the text for the new pages, but I’ll do what I can. I want to get all the text prepared and coded FIRST, so that I can upload the lot at once, instead of doing it piecemeal. I’m always going to be adding and updating pages, but these particular pages are the most important.

Eileen – Elijah’s Song ran yesterday at Churchill and came in third – not bad! Thought you’d want to know.

Most of yesterday was spent on Elusive Prayers. I’m doing the big push to both finish it and get another rewrite done before Friday. I’ve only got 35 pages to go. It’s all about how much stamina I have over the next few days – I have to write the episodes for all the serials through the end of next week because I’m going to Maine, and I’ll be working on the research for the whaling saga next week.

Had two nightmares that woke me up in the course of the night. One, I immediately forgot. The other was about a tooth falling out – an omen of death, according to family lore. That disturbs me greatly. I don’t want to feed energy into it, but I also don’t want to dismiss it. So I’m treading carefully and fussing at my loved ones more than usual.

There's a new KIC PR person? Did I miss the announcement?

Ah, Dahlink...you forget, Neville is a PURE blood wizard! (Although I don't buy it that any of the wizarding families are "really" purebloods, because like Sirius' mother, they simply blast all the squibs and muggles from their family tree, and pretend they don't exist.)
My money is on Snape. And I will surely let you know next monday, after I've read the book!

Any horse named Elijah's Song has to be lucky in my book!

Thanks for sharing, Devon!

Very cool.
