Aug. 8 Part II

Here are three excellent blogs worth checking out:

C. Hope Clark:

Risk Factor:

Wired Writer:

They’re very different and each quite wonderful. I’m adding them to my links at the right.

Decent, but not brilliant writing day. The lack of sleep made me fuzzier and lacking a focus I desperately needed.

Got another decent issue of Charlotte done and off (issue #90). Nothing on Tapestry. However, managed to get 12 pages of Lighthouse Lady done. It’s flowing well, and I’ve got just under 1/5 of the novella done.

All of my various e-mail accounts have far too much mail stacked in them. I answer most of the mail quite efficiently, but then I don’t file/delete/follow up the way I should. Today, I handled 173 pieces of email from a single account. And I’m nowhere near caught up on that one. So, in addition to keeping up on a daily basis with it, I have to spend a chunk of time each day playing catch-up. Or I’ll drown in paper work (even if it’s online).

Finished Agatha Christie’s Crooked House. I’d never read it before. Some interesting twists. I figured it out, but was almost – almost—taken in by one of the red herrings. I’m learning a great deal from re-reading her books.

Started work on the release for Elusive Prayers, but I’m too tired for it to have the amount of snap it needs. I’ll let it simmer for a bit. And I want to take a couple of days to truly plan a good marketing campaign for it. I need to reacquaint myself with some of the marketing sites and also pull together something that can be used both as a cyber release and in print – time to send out yet another press mailing. Keep your name in front of them. Eventually they’ll pick up at least one of the stories.

Tried to nap, but was too tired. So maybe I’ll call it an early day and watch some bad TV tonight.

If I can get a good night’s sleep, I can put in a good, solid, productive writing day tomorrow.

Saw you on Ivillage and thought I'd check out your blog. Nice, I write too. If you could stop by my blog whenever you get a chance and post just so that I have your name on there so I can come back here and read more later that would be cool.
I'm busy too of course, so I'll read more of your blog when I can.

Hope you got some sleep--and as for the email, you're just TOO POPULAR, Devon!
The only "friends" I have in email want to sell me special creams (for something I don't even have) and strange sex toys and pharmaceutical drugs. But they're really friendly...
