Again, the heat index is expected to go up to around 105 today. Ick.

Sad news: a little boy died on Ye Olde Mill Ride here at Playland Amusement Park. I hope they do a thorough investigation – it’s the tamest ride there is. I rode it on my own from the time I was six years old. In fact, I rode it last summer, as research for a couple of pieces – it is the safest, tamest ride I’ve ever seen, and something is seriously wrong. There’s nothing dangerous, the mechanics are so basic even I understand them – something happened in there, and I don’t think “accident” covers it. Fortunately, the people who run and care for the Park are responsible and conscientious (in addition to an enormous commitment to the Park) and I believe they will keep investigating until they figure out what really happened.

On a happier note, please check out the wonderful interview with Angela Giles Klocke of The Thirteen Traveling Journals Project. She’s blogging for charity on Aug. 6 – what a great idea!

I have to settle down and be productive today, although I still have a bad case of Serial Avoidance Syndrome. My muses are getting quite cross with me.

Worked on some writing last night, messing around with some experiments. It’s always good to switch gears and try to stretch a bit, rather than doing same old, same old.

Saturn moves into my House of Work in my chart for the next two years – perfect for this career transition. However, Saturn also goes retrograde in a few weeks, so I don’t’ know what sort of effect that will have.

Ready for a new moon and fresh motivation.

Now, to the serials, whether I feel like it or not.
